Velvet J is one of our youngest of the 2025 foal crop; yet she shines just as bright with possibility. She is by 2021 MidSummer Western Pleasure Jr Horse National Champion, Verdict J+. A son of the great Versace and out of Alishahmaal, Verdict J shares the honor of being the only full sibling to Virtuosa MLA… dam of World Champion superstar FA El Rasheem. And while Verdict J’s pedigree is type-ladened for halter, Verdict’s true calling is in the western pleasure rings, just as his breeder, Larry Jerome, had planned.

Velvet’s dam, Khahala J, is by the mighty broodmare producer, Khadraj NA+++/. She herself is a Top Ten national champion in western pleasure before she was retired to broodmare duties.

Velvet J will be a substantial mare when she matures and is perfectly built to succeed in top-level western pleasure rings.

Velvet’s unique pedigree enables her to cross beautifully with Varian breeding, and we would recommend a cross to Major Mac V either before or in place of her show career.
